Do you miss the classic start menu on your Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012?  Some of us do and some of us don’t.  If you do miss it, you can add it back in.  It’s pretty close to what you’ve experienced in previous versions of Windows.  It can be downloaded from SourceForge.Net.

If you’re not allowed to install software on your Windows 8, you can create a shortcut to your programs by following these instructions:

1. Right click on the taskbar

2. Select Toolbars

3. Select New toolbar…

4. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

ProgramData is a hidden folder. You can choose to show hidden files from File Explorer or type in the above path in the Folder dialog box.

5. Select Programs Folder and click Select Folder

You should now see a similar image on your taskbar
